DO I LOOK LIKE MY DOG?
My Granny and I play a silly game,
As we stroll along the street,
We look at dogs and their owners,
What’s alike from head to feet.
A lady with a bouffant hair-do,
Passes by and we try not to stare,
She’s gracefully walking her poodle,
Who is wearing the same style of hair!
A man with stout and dumpy legs,
Holds his dog lead close to his side,
He’s being dragged by his Jack Russell,
Better hold on tight for the ride.
A gentleman looking forlorn and old,
Shuffles to his red letter box.
His Bloodhound’s eyes are droopy,
Just like the man’s stripy old socks.
A very lean and fit runner,
Strides past us at lightning pace.
His Greyhound is even leaner,
It looks like they’re having a race.
A black Doberman Pincer,
His fangs all snarly are bared,
His muscly owner is just as cross,
And we’re both a little bit scared.
A teeny Chihuahua is carried,
By an owner who is rather petite.
Under her arm - like a handbag,
They totter on down the street.
A Cocker Spaniel passes us next,
He is black and of medium size.
The owner is happy and cheery,
And the dog smiles at us with his eyes.
A redheaded lady power walking,
Zig zags from side to side -
Her Red Heeler is far too close,
And we watch as they both collide.
He’s carrying a long haired Terrier.
They look quite quaint wandering by,
But we can’t decide who is the hairier!
A little blonde girl is dragged along,
Let’s hope she can keep her feet.
Her Labrador smells something good,
And they struggle on down the street.
So next time you’re out walking,
Have fun with this silly game -
Looking at dogs and their owners,
To see if they look the same!
